How to Use the Age Calculator

How Age Is Calculated
Exact age is found by computing the difference between two dates while accounting for the varying lengths of months and the presence of leap years:
- Years — the number of complete birthdays that have passed.
- Months — the complete months since the last birthday.
- Days — the remaining days into the current month.
For total day counts, the calculator counts every day between the two dates, including February 29 in leap years.
Example Calculation
If you were born on March 15, 1995, and today is August 5, 2026:
- Years: 2026 − 1995 = 31 (birthday already passed this year)
- Months: August − March = 4 full months
- Days: 5 − 15 → borrow from the previous month = 21 days
Exact age: 31 years, 4 months, 21 days.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I calculate my exact age?
Enter your date of birth and the calculator shows your exact age in years, months, and days, plus totals in months, weeks, days, hours, and minutes.
How is age calculated in years, months, and days?
Age is calculated by finding the difference between your birth date and today's date, accounting for varying month lengths and leap years. The result is expressed as complete years, then remaining months, then remaining days.
Can I calculate age on a specific date?
Yes. Change the 'Age at date' field to any date to find how old you were or will be on that specific day. This is useful for planning, eligibility checks, and historical calculations.
How many days old am I?
The calculator shows your total age in days. For example, a 30-year-old is roughly 10,950 days old (accounting for leap years). Enter your birth date above to see your exact total.
What is a leap year and does it affect my age?
A leap year has 366 days (with February 29) and occurs every 4 years. It affects total day counts but not your age in years. This calculator accounts for leap years automatically.
Is this age calculator free and private?
Yes. It is completely free, requires no sign-up, and runs entirely in your browser. Your birth date is never stored or transmitted.
